If you’ve recently had bariatric (weight loss) surgery, whether that be lap-band, gastric-bypass or gastric-sleeve, chances are you may be feeling a little overwhelmed about food now; what you can eat, what you can’t, how much you’re allowed to eat, how much you can actually eat and so on. Perhaps you had bariatric surgery quite some time ago and you feel like your eating habits aren’t as good as they used to be and you have gone a bit off track.

That’s okay. Everyone who has had weight loss surgery has been there. We understand and are here to help. Which is why, at Inspiring Nutrition and Diet Therapy in Perth, we have created a unique one of a kind cooking course, specifically for those who have had bariatric surgery.

What will you learn in this course and how do you know if it’s right for you? Keep reading to find out.

Get out of that “meal rut”

Like many of us (and not just those who have had surgery), you may be feeling like you’re in a bit of a “meal rut”. You don’t know what to cook, what to buy and are fed up of eating the same foods day after day, night after night!

Our bariatric cooking classes will teach you how to put goodness, freshness and taste into meeting your nutritional goals after weight loss surgery and get out of that “meal rut” by putting some variety into your diet – for good.

Supercharge your meals

We will teach you to supercharge each and every meal.

What do we mean by supercharge your meals? We mean pack your meals and snacks with REAL nutrition-dense ingredients that are high in fibre, protein, vitamins and minerals.

Your food will be supercharged and really pack a punch!

Learn to use more plant-based ingredients

Not only will your food be supercharged and really pack a punch, but you will also learn how to make the most of your meals by using plant-based ingredients.

Why use plant-based ingredients? Because they promote longevity, are economical, and are good for both your body and the environment.

Everything else you need to know about food post-surgery

Following weight loss surgery, to prevent any complications, the risk of regaining weight or suffering from malnutrition, it’s important to change both what and how you eat.

While preparing a whole day’s food intake, we will discuss cooking tips and tricks, strategies to achieve your specific nutritional requirements, and eat the freshly prepared food we have just made too!  So, come with an empty tummy!

Are we qualified?

You may find yourself wondering, “How do these women know about bariatric surgery? Are they qualified to help me?”

You can take comfort in knowing that all three of our dietitians are specially trained to work with weight loss surgery patients and are accredited with a Certificate in Medical Nutrition Therapy in Bariatric Surgery.

We are your go-to dietitians for bariatric patients regardless of how long ago or where you had your surgery.
